GB/T 26879-2025 is the English-translated version of 粮油储藏 平房仓隔热技术规范.
GB/T 26879-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering keeping a flat grain warehouse cool so the stack warms slowly — the insulation materials, now including polyurethane boards, aerogels and radiant cooling films, the roof, ceiling and wall constructions, the thermal bridges at door and window openings where the insulation stops and the heat gets in anyway, the cover laid over the grain pile itself, and the verification methods for both the building and the cover. It replaces GB/T 26879-2011, under the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration. In force from 1 August 2025. Issued on 24 January 2025, it has been in force since 1 August 2025, replacing GB/T 26879-2011.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 26879-2011 "Technical Specification for Thermal Insulation of Grain and Oil Storage Warehouses". Compared with GB/T 26879-2011, In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
— Deleted the terms and definitions of heat transfer for stored grain, enclosure structure, insulation material, polyurethane foam layer and grain pile sealing (see 2011 Versions 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.9 and 3.10);
— Changed the definitions of warehouse insulation, static insulation, dynamic insulation, roof insulation, ceiling insulation, and grain cover (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6, 3.1, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 and 3.11 of the 2011 edition);
— Added the terms and definitions of radiant cooling materials, aerogels, polyurethane insulation boards and thermal bridges (see 3.7, 3.8, 3.9 and 3.10);
— Changed the requirements for polyurethane foam materials, thermal insulation coatings, ceiling materials, and overhead materials (see 4.1.2~4.1.5, 2011 edition 4.1.2~4.1.5);
— Added radiation cooling materials, aerogel materials, polyurethane insulation boards, paving radiation cooling films or aerogel insulation coils for insulation, interior Requirements for thermal insulation of polyurethane insulation boards pasted on walls (see 4.1.6~4.1.8, 4.3.3, 4.5.3);
— Changed the requirements for thermal insulation of thermal bridges such as door and window openings (see 4.6, 4.6 of the 2011 edition);
— Deleted "rice husk cover" and "quilt or blanket cover" (see 5.2.1 and 5.2.3 of the 2011 edition);
— Changed "Chemical material gland" and "Other material gland" (see 5.2, 5.1.3, 5.2.2, 5.2.4 of the 2011 edition);
— Changed "Thermal insulation precautions" (see 4.7, 5.3, Chapter 6 of the 2011 edition);
— Added verification method (see Chapter 6).

1 Scope
This document defines the terminology of thermal insulation technology for flat warehouses and grain piles, and specifies the requirements for thermal insulation technology for warehouses, grain piles and For other requirements, describe the corresponding verification methods.
This document applies to the insulation technology treatment of newly built or renovated bunk warehouses to slow down the rise in grain temperature.
