Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 26816-2011 "Core Metadata of Information Resources". Compared with GB/T 26816-2011, except for structural adjustments... Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---The definition of "information resources" has been changed (see 3.1,.2011 version 3.1);

---Change "Attributes of metadata" to "Metadata description methods" (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the.2011 edition);

---Change "core metadata" to "core metadata model" (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the.2011 edition);

1 Scope

GB/T 26816-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the minimum set of fields that describes any information resource - the identifier, title, creator and date, the subject and coverage, the rights and the format, defined so that catalogues built by different bodies can be searched together. Issued on 31 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 26816-2011.

This document specifies the description method, core metadata model, core metadata description, and core metadata of information resources. Extended requirements. This document applies to the cataloging, archiving, database creation, collection, processing, application, ownership confirmation, circulation, and transaction of information resources.
