GB/T 26676-2011 specifies the terms and definitions, the test equipment, the test conditions, the test procedure, the test records and the test evaluation for the withstanding voltage test of the electrical, electronic and programmable electronic control systems of machine tools.

Clause 1 applies it to that test on machine tool electrical systems whose nominal voltage does not exceed AC 1000 V or DC 1500 V and whose rated frequency does not exceed 200 Hz, and adds that the voltage test of similar machine electrical systems may refer to the standard; two notes to clause 1 state that machine here means metal cutting machine tools, electric machines and other types of machine, and that the electronic systems and programmable electronic control systems applied in a machine tool electrical system are part of that electrical system and not a separate system.
