Scope
GB/T 25217.13-2019 is the English-translated version of 冲击地压测定、监测与防治方法 第13部分:顶板深孔爆破防治方法.
GB/T 25217.13-2019 is the Chinese national method for using deep-hole blasting in a coal seam roof to prevent rock burst.
It sets out the terms and definitions, the equipment, tools and materials the work needs, how the prevention method is applied and how its parameters are chosen, the blasting procedure and its safety requirements, and how the effect of the pressure relief treatment is checked.
It defines roof blasting, the blasting hole and its depth, roof deep-hole blasting - a blast hole deeper than 10 m - the charging method and the coupling coefficient of the charge.
It cites GB 6722 on blasting safety and GB/T 16414 on coal mine rock mechanics terminology. Part 13 of GB/T 25217, it was issued on 30 August 2019 and has applied since 1 March 2020.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB 6722 and GB/T 16414 apply to this document.
3.1 Roof blasting
Blasting in the roof to increase cracks in the roof rock mass, to destroy the integrity and continuity of the roof, and to release the elastic energy stored in the roof operation.
3.2 Blasting hole
Used for drilling holes in blasting operations.
3.3 Blast hole depth
The linear distance from the blasthole opening position to the final hole position.
3.4 Roof deep hole blasting
The blasting hole depth is greater than 10m.
3.5 Charging method
The arrangement of explosives, detonators, etc. in the blasthole.
3.6 Coupling coefficient
The ratio of the diameter of the blasthole to the diameter of the charge. [MT/T 1036-2007, definition 3.5]
