Scope
GB/T 24838-2018 is the English-translated version of 1100kV高压交流断路器.
GB/T 24838-2018 is the Chinese national standard for 1 100 kV high-voltage alternating-current circuit-breakers, used together with GB/T 11022-2011 and following its clause numbering.
It sets the service conditions, the ratings (insulation level, rated current, short-circuit breaking and making current, transient recovery voltage, out-of-phase and capacitive switching, operating sequence, mechanical and electrical endurance, noise), design rules for SF6 tightness, creepage distance and low-pressure lockout, and the type and routine tests, including seismic, near-zone fault and capacitive-current tests.
It covers indoor and outdoor circuit-breakers for 50 Hz systems of 1 000 kV nominal voltage together with their operating mechanisms, but excludes bypass circuit-breakers across line series capacitors.
It replaces GB/Z 24838-2009, was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB /Z 24838-2009 "1100kV high voltage AC circuit breaker technical specifications", and GB /Z 24838-2009 phase The main differences are as follows.
--- Added terms and definitions such as "general terminology, switchgear, components of circuit breakers, operation, characteristic parameters" (see section 3) chapter);
--- Added a number of necessary diagrams (see Figures 1 to 26);
--- Added "Representation of Transient Recovery Voltage Waveform (TRV)" and revised the article number (see 4.102);
--- Increased the high TRV value and additional breaking test requirements for line faults considering the use of series compensation devices (see 6.106);
--- Modified the representation of the ability to open and combine reactors, from capacity to current value (see 4.109, GB /Z 24838-5.20 of 2009);
--- Revised the relevant requirements for terminal static load test (see 6.101.4.2, 7.12.4 of GB /Z 24838-2009);
--- Increased the type of test for opening and closing reactors (see 6.110);
--- Revised the factory test power frequency withstand voltage duration, increased from 1min to 5min, and previously carried out 635kV old Practice test for 5min (see 7.1, 9.1 of GB /Z 24838-2009);
--- Increased the total number of combined operations in the factory test should not be less than 200 times, and the last 20 times of the last 100 times and the last 100 times The last 20 times are the requirements of 10 reclosing operations (see 7.101);
---Modified the requirements for the insulation test of the main circuit of the circuit breaker in the tank circuit breaker or GIS in the "Handover Inspection and Test Procedure" (See 10.2.102.3.1, 12.2.2.3.1 of GB /Z 24838-2009);
--- Revised the clause number of the "Field Test" (see 10.3, Chapter 8 of GB /Z 24838-2009);
--- Added "product environmental impact" (see Chapter 12);
--- Added "calculation of transient recovery voltage for near-field faults based on rated characteristics" (see Appendix A);
--- Added "Tolerance of test parameters in type tests" (see Appendix B).
This standard should be used together with GB/T 11022-2011, unless otherwise specified in the standard, this standard refers to GB/T 11022-2011.
In order to simplify the expression of the same requirements, the chapter number of this standard is the same as GB/T 11022-2011. For supplement under the same reference heading The new terms are numbered starting from 101.

1.1 Scope
This standard specifies the conditions of use, rating, design and structure, test, selection guidelines, transportation, and 1100kV high voltage AC circuit breakers. Requirements for storage, installation, operation and maintenance.
This standard is applicable to UHV power designed to be installed outdoors or indoors and operated at a frequency of 50 Hz and a nominal voltage of 1000 kV. High voltage AC circuit breaker in the system.
This standard also applies to the operating mechanism of the 1100kV circuit breaker and its auxiliary equipment.
Circuit breakers with predetermined inter-pole different durations are not included in the scope of this standard except for single-pole auto-reclosing circuit breakers.
A bypass circuit breaker in parallel with the line series capacitor and its protective equipment is not included in the scope of this standard.
