Scope
GB/T 24499-2009 is the English-translated version of 氢气、氢能与氢能系统术语.
GB/T 24499-2009 is a glossary that fixes the terms and definitions used in the technology of hydrogen, hydrogen energy and hydrogen energy systems and in its applications.
Clause 1 applies it to the writing and translation of standards, technical documents, professional manuals, textbooks and books in that field, and states no exclusions.
The glossary is arranged in five term clauses, headed generic terms, hydrogen preparation, hydrogen storage and filling, application of hydrogen, and hydrogen system security, followed by three informative annexes, among them a Chinese index and an English index.
Clause 2, on generic terms, holds ten entries whose term names the draft does not print: the lightest chemical element, with symbol H, atomic number 1 and atomic weight 1.008, and an important element of the Earth; the energy released by hydrogen in the course of physical and chemical changes, which can be used for power generation, as fuel for various vehicles and aircraft and as a household fuel; the system that produces, stores, distributes and applies hydrogen; the various chemical processes of hydrogen preparation, storage and application; an economic structure built on hydrogen production and transport, hydrogen storage, hydrogen conversion and hydrogen application together with the related standards; an atom made of one proton and one electron; a molecule made of two hydrogen atoms joined by chemical bonds; the ion formed when hydrogen loses electrons; the isotope written 1H, with proton number 1, an important component of the hydrogen molecule and with a relative proton mass of 1.0078; and the isotope written 2D, with one proton and one neutron and a relative proton mass of 2.0141.
The draft breaks off after that tenth entry, so the four remaining term clauses are not shown.
The foreword states that the three annexes are informative, that the standard was proposed by the national standardization technical committee for energy and management and falls under the national standardization technical committee for hydrogen, and that the drafting bodies include the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, the China National Institute of Standardization, Tongji University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and the China Electronics Engineering Design Institute. It was issued on 2009-10-30 and has applied since 2010-05-01.
