This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1:1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting: This document replaces GB/T 22862-2009 "Sea Island Silk Fabric": Compared with GB/T 22862-2009, except for structural adjustment and editorial Besides the changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The definitions of the terms "sea-island silk" and "sea-island silk fabric" have been changed, and the term "sea-island composite silk" and its definition have been deleted (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the:2009 edition);

b) Deleted the classification of sea-island silk fabrics (see Chapter 4 of the:2009 edition);

c) Changed the grade system and deleted "third-class product" (see 4:2:2, 5:3 of the:2009 edition);

d) Changed the assessment requirements for the quality deviation rate (see 4:3, 5:5 of the:2009 edition);

e) The assessment items of "Dry Cleaning Dimensional Change Rate", "Abrasion Resistance", "Appearance after Washing" and "Colour Fastness to Saliva" have been added (see 4:3);

f) Changed the assessment requirements for color fastness to soaping and color fastness to rubbing (see 4:3, 5:5 of the:2009 edition);

g) Changed the rules for judging dark and light colors (see 4:3, 5:5 of the:2009 edition);

h) Changed the length of the fabric mark (see 4:5:3, 5:7:3 of the:2009 edition);

i) Added the test methods for internal quality and appearance quality assessment items (see Chapter 5);

j) The test method for tear strength has been changed (see 5:1:9, 6:1:2 of the:2009 edition);

k) The regulations on "packaging" and "marking" have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 8 and Chapter 9 of the:2009 edition);

1 Scope

GB/T 22862-2023 is the Chinese national standard on sea-island filament fabrics, in the field of textile and leather technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it.
