Scope

GB/T 22749-2022 is the English-translated version of 饮食加工设备 电动设备 切片机.

GB/T 22749-2022 is the Chinese national safety standard for electrically driven food slicing machines.

It gives an overview of the machine, describes the hazards it can present - mechanical, electrical, instability, hazards from cleaning and from neglected ergonomics - and then sets the technical requirements against each of them, the verification of the protective measures, the inspection rules and the information for use, including instructions, operator training and marking.

Annex A gives design principles for cleanability. It applies to movable slicers with a powered circular blade more than 150 mm in diameter and a reciprocating feed carriage, in the horizontal-feed and gravity-feed forms, and not to industrial slicers.

It is a type-C machine safety standard. It replaces GB 22749-2008, was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB 22749-2008 "Safety and Hygiene Requirements for Food Processing Machinery Slicers", which is consistent with GB 22749-2008 In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

--- Changed terms and definitions (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the 2008 edition);

--- Added "Overview" (see Chapter 4);

--- Added "inspection rules" (see Chapter 8).

Introduction

This document lists the various hazards that may arise from using a slicer. In addition, for hazards not covered in this document, see Applicable terms of GB/T 15706. The structure of the Machinery Safety Series Standard is:

--- Class A standard (basic safety standard), giving the basic concepts, design principles and characteristics applicable to all machinery.

--- Class B standard (general safety standard), involving a safety feature of machinery or a class of safety guards with a wide range of use.

- Category B1, specific safety features (such as safety distance, surface temperature, noise) standards;

- Class B2, safety devices (such as two-hand control devices, interlocking devices, pressure-sensitive devices, protective devices) standards.

--- Class C standard (machine safety standard), a standard that specifies detailed safety requirements for a specific machine or group of machines. This document is a Category C standard.

When the provisions of Type C standards are different from those of Type A standards or Type B standards that have been promulgated, for those that have been designed in accordance with Type C standards and manufactured machines, the provisions of the Class C standard take precedence over the provisions of the Class A standard or the provisions of the Class B standard.

The function of the slicer described in this document is to cut the material into pieces, therefore, the blade is not completely sealed. Although part of the blade is exposed, Reasonable design can improve safety. This document sets acceptable good working practices for slicers to achieve improved product processing quality and security purposes.

1 Scope

This document specifies an overview of the slicer, descriptions of relevant hazards, technical requirements, verification of measures, inspection rules and usage information.

This document applies to movable slicers equipped with an electric circular cutting blade with a diameter greater than 150mm and a reciprocating feed slide.

Note 1: Generally used in catering industries such as shops, restaurants, supermarkets and canteens.

Note 2: This type of slicer includes:

--- Horizontal feed slicer (manual operation: see Figure 1; or automated operation: see Figure 13);

--- Gravity-feed slicer (manual operation: see Figure 2; or automated operation).

This document does not apply to industrial slicers.

Note 3: This type of slicer is fixed in a certain position, usually used in meat processing plants and meat processing plants.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated citations documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.
