1 Scope

GB/T 22247-2024 is the Chinese national standard on determination of icariin in health foods, in the field of food technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. 4 Principle

Icariin in the sample was extracted with 70% ethanol solution, and the oily sample was degreased with n-hexane, filtered, and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography. The product was detected by UV detector, qualitative analysis was performed by retention time and quantitative analysis was performed by external standard method.
