This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 21963-2008 "Agricultural Machinery Maintenance Terminology". Compared with GB/T 21963-2008, in addition to structural adjustments and In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

e) Deleted "repair production mode", "repair point level", "professional skill appraisal" and "repair network system" (see 6.3.1,.2008 edition) 6.4.4~6.4.6);

f) Change "repair work hours" to "maintenance work hours" (see 7.12.1,

1 Scope

GB/T 21963-2025 is the Chinese national standard on terminology for agricultural machinery maintenance and repair, in the field of agriculture. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 30 May 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 December 2025. 3.1 Machinery and equipment used in agricultural production, primary processing of its products and other related agricultural activities.

3.2 The sum of the appearance and performance parameters that quantitatively or qualitatively characterize agricultural machinery.

3.3 Inspection and testing activities to determine the technical status or working capacity of agricultural machinery.

3.4 The process of determining the technical status of agricultural machinery and finding out the location and cause of the fault.

3.5 Activities involving maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery.

3.6 The ease with which agricultural machinery can be repaired to a specified state under specified procedures and methods.
