1 Scope

This standard provides for pests or articles using ionizing radiation irradiation treatment technology specific procedures and technical guidelines.

This standard does not include the processing of the following areas.

--- To combat the production of sterile biological pest;

--- Sanitization (food safety and animal health);

--- Maintaining or improving the quality of goods (such as extended shelf life);

2 Terms and definitions
