Scope

GB/T 44612-2024 is the English-translated version of 杰克贝尔氏粉蚧检疫处理技术要求.

GB/T 44612-2024 sets the phytosanitary treatment requirements for Pseudococcus jackbeardsleyi, the Jack Beardsley mealybug. It is a tropical polyphagous pest that travels on fruit and ornamental consignments, hides in the calyx and under bracts where inspection misses it, and is intercepted regularly at Chinese ports; a treatment schedule matters because the alternative to treating a consignment is refusing it. The standard sets three treatments. For fumigation it gives the basic requirements, the technical indicators of dose, temperature and exposure, the operating procedure, the determination of the result and the emergency response; for irradiation and for heat treatment it gives the corresponding basic requirements, technical indicators, procedure and result determination, together with the records to be kept. It takes effect on 1 April 2025.
