1 Scope

GB/T 44612-2024 sets the phytosanitary treatment requirements for Pseudococcus jackbeardsleyi, the Jack Beardsley mealybug. It is a tropical polyphagous pest that travels on fruit and ornamental consignments, hides in the calyx and under bracts where inspection misses it, and is intercepted regularly at Chinese ports; a treatment schedule matters because the alternative to treating a consignment is refusing it. The standard sets three treatments.
