Scope
GB/T 36773-2018 is the English-translated version of 竹制品检疫处理技术规程.
GB/T 36773-2018 sets out the Chinese national technical rules for the phytosanitary treatment of bamboo products that may carry pests. It covers three treatment methods: fumigation at atmospheric pressure with methyl bromide or sulfuryl fluoride, steam heat treatment and irradiation.
For fumigation it specifies the reagents and equipment, starting with the minimum effective content of each fumigant, while irradiation draws on national rules for gamma irradiation facilities, electron accelerators and irradiation as a phytosanitary measure.
It defines fumigation, steam heat, irradiation and treatment as used in quarantine work. Inspection and quarantine bodies and treatment providers use it when bamboo goods are handled for import or export.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical methods for the treatment of bamboo products such as methyl bromide or sulfuryl fluoride at atmospheric pressure fumigation, steaming and irradiation.
This standard is applicable to the quarantine and decontamination treatment of various types of bamboo products such as fumigation, steaming and irradiation.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Fumigation treatment
A technique or method of treating a cargo that may carry a pest using a chemical agent that is completely or primarily gaseous.
3.2 Steam heat treatment
A technique or method of using hot air (steam) to treat goods that may carry pests.
3.3 Irradiation treatment
Techniques or methods for treating goods that may carry pests using ionizing radiation techniques.
3.4 Treatment
Official authorisation for the killing or elimination of pests or for the infertility or inactivation of pests.
4 Fumigation treatment
4.1 Reagents and equipment
