Scope

GB/T 20409-2018 is the English-translated version of 高压锅炉用内螺纹无缝钢管.

GB/T 20409-2018 is the Chinese national standard for seamless multi-rifled steel tubes, the cold-drawn or cold-rolled tubes with internal helical ribs used to build high-pressure and higher-pressure boilers.

It divides the tubes into types A, B and OM by rib profile, each with its helix angle, flank angle and crest width, and covers the ordering information, dimensions and thread parameters with their tolerances, length, straightness, out-of-roundness and weight.

For steel grades from 20G and 12Cr1MoVG to 10Cr9Mo1VNbN and 10Cr9MoW2VNbBN it sets chemical composition, manufacture, delivery condition, mechanical and process properties, hydraulic test, microstructure, grain size, decarburisation, surface quality and ultrasonic testing, with test methods, inspection rules, marking and an annex on theoretical weight.

It replaces GB/T 20409-2006, was issued on 14 May 2018 and has applied since 1 February 2019.
