Scope

GB/T 19378-2017 is the English-translated version of 农药剂型名称及代码.

GB/T 19378-2017 gives the names and codes of pesticide formulations. It applies to technical materials, technical concentrates and formulated pesticide products, and sets them out in a single table that gives, for each formulation, its clause number, English name, code and a short description.

The groups run from technical materials (TC) and technical concentrates (TK), through solid formulations for direct use such as dustable powder, granules and tablets, solid formulations for dispersion such as wettable powder and seed treatment formulations, to other formulations: devices such as aerosol dispensers and vaporizing mats, volatile formulations, smoke formulations and baits.

Compared with the 2003 edition it adds spatial repellent, insect-proof net and insect-proof cover formulations and deletes outdated ones such as floating powder.

It replaces GB/T 19378-2003, was issued on 1 November 2017 and has applied since 1 May 2018.

Foreword

This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This Standard replaces GB/T 19378-2003 "Nomenclature and codes for pesticide for formulations". Compared with GB/T 19378-2003, the main changes in this Standard are as follows:

-- adjusted the sorting of and revised the categories and category names of the directly-used smoke formulations and bait formulations; added the category of spatial repellent formulations;

-- optimized and integrated the formulations such as drop solution in the original standard; verified and revised the Chinese names and English names of the formulations such as hanging strip;

-- deleted the backward formulations such as floating powder, packaging formulations and formulations without products in circulation;

-- added insect-proof net formulations and insect-proof cover formulations.

1 Scope

This Standard specifies the formulation names and codes of pesticide products.

This Standard is applicable to technical materials, technical concentrates and formulations of pesticide.

2 Nomenclature and codes of pesticide formulations

See Table 1 for the nomenclature and codes of pesticide formulations.

2.1 Technical materials and technical concentrates

2.1.1 Technical material (TC)

A product that is composed of active ingredients and related impurities in the manufacturing process, which can be added with a small number of additives (stabilizers) if necessary.

2.1.2 Technical concentrate (TK)

A product that is composed of active ingredients and related impurities in the manufacturing process, which might contain a small number of necessary additives (such as stabilizers) and appropriate diluents.

2.2 Solid formulations for direct use

2.2.1 Solid formulations for direct use
2.2.1.1 Dustable powder (DP)

A powdery formulation that contains active ingredients, can flow freely and is suitable for dusting or spraying.

2.2.1.2 Granule (GR)

A granular formulation containing active ingredients, which has a certain particle size range and can flow freely.

2.2.1.3 Pellet (PT)

A spherical formulation that contains active ingredients (generally greater than 6mm in diameter).

2.2.1.4 Tablet (TB)

A sheet-shaped formulation of a certain shape and size, which contains active ingredients.

2.2.1.5 Plant rodlet (PR)

A stick-shaped or rod-shaped formulation that contains active ingredients (generally a few centimeters in length and a few millimeters in width/diameter, that is, the length is greater than the diameter/width).

2.2.2 Solid formulation for dispersion
2.2.2.1 Wettable powder (WP)

A powdery formulation in which the active ingredients are dispersed in water as a suspension.

2.4.2 Seed treatment liquid formulations
2.4.2.1 Solution for seed treatment (LS)

A transparent or translucent liquid formulation that is directly used for or diluted for seed processing, that contains active ingredients, that might contain water-insoluble inert ingredients.

2.4.2.2 Emulsion for seed treatment (ES)

A stable emulsion formulation that is directly used for or diluted for seed processing, that contains active ingredients.

2.4.2.3 Suspension concentrate for seed treatment (flowable concentrate for seed treatment) (FS)

A suspended liquid formulation that is directly used for or diluted for seed processing, that contains active ingredients.

2.5 Other formulations

2.5.1 Formulations prepared as devices
2.5.1.1 Aerosol dispenser (AE)

A sealed canned formulation that sprays small liquid beads or mist droplets containing medicinal liquid containing active ingredients under the action of the propellant.

2.5.1.2 Vaporizing mat (MV)

A sheet-shaped formulation that uses paper or other carriers as a carrier, heating in the supporting heater to volatilize the active ingredients.

2.5.1.3 Liquid vaporizer (LV)

A homogeneous liquid formulation in which the active ingredients are volatilized by heating the core rod under the cooperation of a medicine bottle and a matching heater.

2.5.1.4 Proof mat (PM)

A sheet-shaped or granular formulation that uses synthetic resin or other as a carrier to evaporate the active ingredients under the action of the wind of a supporting fan.

2.5.2 Volatile formulations
2.5.2.1 Gas (GA)

A gas formulation that active ingredients are compressed in a pressure-resistant container.

2.5.2.1. gas generating product (GE): A gas formulation that uses chemical reaction to produce active ingredients.

2.5.2.2 Dispensor (DR)

A formulation that uses carriers to release active ingredients for regulating insect behavior.

2.5.3 Smoke formulations
2.5.3.1 Smoke generator (FU)

A solid formulation that releases active ingredients by igniting fumes (or thermal energy generated by chemical reactions).

2.5.3.2 Mosquito coil (MC)

A spiral disc formulation that, after ignition (smoke), no open flame is generated, and the active ingredients are released into the space through the smoke.

2.5.4 Bait formulations
2.5.4.1 Bait (ready for use) (RB)

A formulation that is directly used to attract target pests, that contains active ingredients. […]
