Introduction

This section is intended to identify surge protectors for the protection of telecommunications and signaling systems such as low-voltage data circuits, audio circuits and alarm circuits (SPD) requirements. The telecommunications and signaling systems may be affected by lightning and power line failures, either directly or through induction, causing the system Withstand overvoltages or overcurrents that are sufficient to cause damage or both. Surge protector (SPD) is to prevent the system from being protected by lightning Electricity and power lines fault generated by the over-voltage and over-current role of a protective device. This section describes the pilot items and requirements these tests and requirements establish a method for testing SPDs and determining their performance.

The SPD in this section includes only the components of the overvoltage protection function and the overvoltage overcurrent protection element. Only overcurrent the SPD of the protective element is not the content of this standard, but Appendix A contains the SPD containing only the current limiting protection element.

An SPD can consist of several overvoltage and overcurrent protection elements, but all SPD tests are based on a "black box" Determine the test procedure with the number of terminals of the SPD, rather than the number of protected components within the SPD. The SPD is given in 1.2 the structure of the diagram. For multiple SPDs, each road can be tested separately, or at the same time, all lines can be test.

The test conditions and test requirements of this section are wide and are determined by the user at the time of use. But 1.3 is given in this section Requirements for all types of SPDs. This part is a performance standard, only SPD capacity requirements, the failure rate and its interpretation by the user consider. The selection principle for SPD will be included in GB/T 18802.22.

If the SPD is a single component device, it shall meet the relevant standards and the requirements of this part.

1.2 Structure of SPD

The structure of SPD described in this section is shown in Fig. Each SPD consists of one or more voltage limiting elements and may contain electrical power Flow limiting element.

a) Two terminals SPD b) Three terminals SPD c) Three terminals SPD

d) Four terminal SPD e) Five terminal SPD f) Multi terminal SPD Description.

V - voltage limiting element;

V, I - a combination of a voltage limiting element or a voltage limiting element and a current limiting element;
