3 Measurement of human body dimensions

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 16160-2008, Location and method of anthropometric surveys for garments. Compared with GB/T 16160-2008, the main changes are as follows:

- the title of the standard has been changed to "Anthropometric definitions and methods for garment" (see the cover; the cover of the 2008 edition);

- the scope of the standard has been modified (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 2008 edition);

- the diagrams of the horizontal dimensions have been modified; the measurement methods for head girth, neck girth, upper arm girth, wrist girth and thigh girth have been modified; the measuring postures for neck base girth, shoulder length, back shoulder width, back width, chest girth, bust point width (women), underbust girth (women), waist girth, hip girth, hand girth, mid-thigh girth, knee girth, lower knee girth, calf girth, minimum leg girth and ankle girth have been added; and the dimension definition of the height of infants not yet able to stand has been deleted (see 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.2.3, 2.2.4, 2.2.5, 2.2.6, 2.2.7, 2.2.8, 2.2.9, 2.2.10, 2.2.11, 2.2.12, 2.2.14, 2.2.15, 2.2.16, 2.2.17, 2.2.18, 2.2.19, 2.2.20, 2.2.21, 2.2.22; 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.1.4, 2.1.5, 2.1.6, 2.1.7, 2.1.8, 2.1.9, 2.1.10, 2.1.11, 2.1.12, 2.1.14, 2.1.15, 2.1.17, 2.1.18, 2.1.19, 2.1.20, 2.1.21, 2.1.22, 2.1.23 of the 2008 edition);

- the way the scale interval of the tape measure is expressed has been modified (see 3.2.3; 3.2.3 of the 2008 edition);

- part of the content concerning infants and young children has been deleted from "Measurement conditions and requirements" (see 3.2.2 and 3.2.3; 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 of the 2008 edition);

- the title of Annex A has been modified (see Annex A; Annex A of the 2008 edition);

- the dimension definition and method for "waist depth" in Annex A have been modified (see A.1.1.2; A.1.1.2 of the 2008 edition);

- the words "(straight-line measurement)" have been deleted from the names "cervical height" and "arm length" in Annex A (see A.1.2.1 and A.1.2.2; A.1.2.2 and A.1.2.3 of the 2008 edition);

- the dimension definition and method for "cervical to knee length" have been deleted from Annex A (see A.1.2.1 of the 2008 edition);

- the title of Annex B has been modified (see Annex B; Annex B of the 2008 edition).
