---Added 27 new machine tool terms and definitions (see 3.2.6.4, 3.4.1~3.4.5, 3.8.1, 3.8.2, 3.10.1~). 3.10.4, 3.16.1~3.16.5, 3.17, 3.17.1~3.17.3, 3.18, 3.18.1~3.18.5);

---The terminology and definitions for 17 woodworking machine tools have been revised (see 3.1, 3.2.1~3.2.2, 3.2.2.3, 3.2.6.1, 3.3.1~3.3.6). 3.3.1.1, 3.3.2.1~3.3.2.3, 3.3.5.1~3.3.5.2);

---Two new kinematic terms and definitions for woodworking machine tools have been added (see 4.1.2.2, 4.1.2.3);

---Added one terminology and definition for the operation and motion of a woodworking machine tool (see 5.14);

---Added one parameter terminology and definition for woodworking machine tools (see 6.2);

---Changed the parameter terminology and definitions for one woodworking machine tool (see 6.2.5);

---Added two new parameter terms and definitions for woodworking machine tools (see 6.3, 6.4);

---Added 40 new terms and definitions for woodworking machine tool components (see 7.2.9, 7.7.2.2, 7.7.4, 7.7.5, 7.9.5, 7.9.5.1~). 7.9.5.7, 7.11, 7.11.1~7.11.15, 7.12, 7.12.1~7.12.11);

---Changed the terminology and definitions for one woodworking machine tool component (see 7.4.5);

1 Scope

GB/T 15379-2025 is the Chinese national standard on woodworking machines - vocabulary, in the field of wood technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 79.120.10, CCS J65. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

This document defines the terminology related to the whole machine, motion, operation and maintenance, parameters, components and processing methods of woodworking machine tools. This document applies to the teaching, production, and research of woodworking machine tools.

3 The complete woodworking machine tool

3.2 Woodworking machine tools that use toothed saw blades (strips) or toothed chains for processing.

3.2.1 A woodworking circular saw that uses a circular saw blade to process workpieces longitudinally.

3.2.1.1 A circular saw for longitudinal machining by manually feeding the workpiece.

3.2.1.2 A circular saw with an adjustable saw shaft for longitudinal processing.

3.2.1.3 A circular saw is a machine in which two saw blades are mounted in parallel on one or two saw shafts to perform longitudinal processing on the workpiece simultaneously.

3.2.1.4 A circular saw with three or more saw blades mounted on a single saw shaft, which simultaneously performs longitudinal processing on the workpiece.

3.2.1.5 A circular saw that performs longitudinal processing of workpieces via motorized feeding.
