1 Scope

GB/T 15234-2025 is the Chinese national standard on plastic flat pallet, in the field of packaging and distribution of goods. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 1 August 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 February 2026. This document specifies the classification, requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of plastic flat pallets, and describes the test methods for plastic flat pallets. This document applies to the design, production, testing, use and management of plastic flat pallets manufactured using injection molding and blow molding processes. Plastic flat pallets manufactured using other molding modes may take this document as a reference.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3716, GB/T 4995-2025 and GB/T 4996-2025, and the following are applicable to this document.

3.1 plastic flat pallet A pallet made primarily of plastic, with a top board but no superstructure.

3.2 injection molding plastic flat pallet A plastic flat pallet manufactured using injection molding process with an injection molding machine and molds.

3.3 blow molding plastic flat pallet A plastic flat pallet manufactured using blow molding process with a blow molding machine and molds.

3.4 welded plastic flat pallet A plastic flat pallet in which two or more separately molded structural components are welded together to achieve the use function of a pallet.

3.5 assembled plastic flat pallet A plastic flat pallet in which two or more separately molded structural components are assembled together to achieve the use function of a pallet.

4 Classification

4.1 In accordance with the production molding process, plastic flat pallets are generally classified into injection molding plastic flat pallets and blow molding plastic flat pallets.

4.2 In accordance with the component combination mode, plastic flat pallets are generally classified into one-piece molding plastic flat pallets, welded plastic flat pallets and assembled plastic flat pallets.

4.3 In accordance with the rated load (R), plastic flat pallets are generally classified into 500 kg, 800 kg, 1,000 kg, 1,200 kg and 1,500 kg.

4.4 In accordance with the number of boards, plastic flat pallets are generally classified into single-sided and double-sided; in accordance with the forklift entry condition, plastic flat pallets are generally classified into two-way forklift entry and four-way forklift entry; in accordance with single-sided or double-sided use, plastic flat pallets are generally classified into single- sided use and double-sided use. In accordance with these classifications, combine and form different types of use. The types, codes, illustrations, common molding processes and main purposes are shown in Table 1.

5 Requirements

5.1 Materials When using raw materials of different properties in the production of plastic flat pallets, they should be easy to identify, separate and recycle; when using fillers or reinforcing materials, pallet performance shall be guaranteed; when using recycled plastics, they shall meet the requirements of 5.1, 5.2,
