Foreword

GB/T 14896, Non-traditional machines - Terminology, is divided into 14 parts:

- Part 1: Basic terms;

- Part 2: Electrical discharge machining machines;

- Part 3: Electrochemical machining machines;

- Part 4: Ultrasonic machining machines;

- Part 5: Hybrid machining machines;

- Part 6: Other non-traditional machines;

- Part 7: Additive manufacturing machines;

- Part 8: Electro-explosive machining machines;

- Part 9: Laser machining machines;

- Part 10: Electron beam machining machines;

- Part 11: Ion beam machining machines;

- Part 12: Plasma arc machining machines;

- Part 13: Jet machining machines;

- Part 14: Abrasive flow machining machines.

This part is Part 5 of GB/T 14896.

This part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces GB/T 14896.5-1994, Non-traditional machines - Terminology - Hybrid machining machines. Compared with GB/T 14896.5-1994, the main changes are as follows:

- the supplementary element of the title, "Hybrid machining machines", has been changed to "Part 5: Hybrid machining machines";

- "Subject content and scope of application" has been changed to "Scope" and its wording has been revised (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 1994 edition);

- Clause 2, "Normative standards", has been deleted (see Clause 2 of the 1994 edition);

- the term "electrical discharge electrochemical machining machine" has been deleted, and the names, definitions and English equivalents of some terms have been revised (see Clause 2; Clause 3 of the 1994 edition);

- the term "electrical discharge electrochemical machining" has been deleted, the names, definitions and English equivalents of some terms have been revised, and terms for more than 10 machining methods, such as "hybrid electrochemical machining", have been added (see Clause 3; Clause 4 of the 1994 edition);

- the French, Russian, German and Japanese equivalents have been deleted.

This part was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.

This part is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Non-traditional Machines of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 161).
