Foreword

This standard and BISFA "polyester staple fiber test method" (1998 edition), BISFA "nylon staple fiber test method" (2002 edition), BIS-Consistency FA "viscose, modal, lyocell, triacetate staple fibers and tow test methods" (2004 edition) measured the length of the portion of the fiber not equivalent.

This standard replaces GB/T 14336-1993 "synthetic staple fiber length of the test method." this standard and GB/T 14336-1993 compared to the main changes are as follows.

--- The standard name be changed to "chemical fiber staple length test methods", the scope includes cellulose fibers;

--- Increasing the length deviation rate is calculated;

--- Added Appendix E "Statistics. Terminology and calculation";

--- Increase in the content of the test report.

Appendix E of this standard is a normative appendix, Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, Appendix D are informative appendices.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the chemical fiber staple length of the test method. fiber bundle in the middle weighing method, a single fiber measuring instrument (Appendix A) and single Fiber manual measurement method (Appendix B). When using fiber bundle controversial middle weighing method, the Act does not apply when the parties agree on the corresponding test method.

This standard applies to polyester (PET), polyamide (nylon), polyacrylonitrile (acrylic), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl formal (dimension Lun), determination of cellulose fiber and other chemical fiber short fiber length, variation rate, long fiber content and fiber content of times longer.

3 Terms and Definitions

GB/T 3291.1 and established the following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

Nominal length of 30mm or less fiber than nominal length 5mm and less than the nominal length by 2 times; nominal length of 31mm ~ Fiber length 50mm more than the name of 7mm and less than the nominal length by 2 times; nominal length of 51mm ~ 70mm fiber than name Defines the length of 10mm and less than the nominal length by 2 times.
