Scope
GB/T 33617-2025 is the English-translated version of 聚酰亚胺短纤维.
GB/T 33617-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering a heat-resistant synthetic fibre cut to staple length — the grading by linear density deviation, breaking strength, length deviation, overlong fibre and defect content, the dry heat shrinkage, and the properties that are the reason anyone pays for polyimide rather than polyester: the oxygen index, the temperature at which five per cent of the mass is lost, and the strength retained after heat, acid and ultraviolet exposure. Issued on 30 May 2025, it has been in force since 1 December 2025, replacing GB/T 33617-2017.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 33617-2017 "Polyimide staple fibers". Compared with GB/T 33617-2017, except for the structural adjustment and In addition to logical changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
— Changed the scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2017 edition);
— Deleted some terms and definitions (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 of the 2017 edition);
— Changed the technical requirements for linear density deviation rate, breaking strength, length deviation rate, overlong fiber rate, defect content, and dry heat shrinkage rate (See Table 1, Table 1 of the 2017 edition);
— Changed oxygen index, temperature of 5% thermal weight loss, heat-resistant breaking strength retention rate, acid-resistant breaking strength retention rate, and ultraviolet radiation resistance Technical requirements for breaking strength retention (see Table 2, 5.5~5.7, Table 2 of the 2017 edition);
— Deleted the technical requirements for moisture regain (see 5.4 of the 2017 edition);
— Added technical requirements for quality differences (see 5.8);
— Changed the length deviation rate, super long fiber rate, double long fiber content, dry heat shrinkage rate, oxygen index, temperature of 5% thermal weight loss, heat resistance Test methods for breaking strength retention, acid resistance breaking strength retention, and ultraviolet radiation resistance breaking strength retention (see 6.4, 6.7~6.9, 6.11, 6.4, 6.7~6.12 of the 2017 edition);
— Deleted the test method for moisture regain (see 6.14 of the 2017 edition);
— The inspection items have been changed (see 7.2.1, 7.2 of the 2017 edition).

1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of polyimide staple fibers, and specifies product identification, technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, etc.
The contents of transportation and storage are described, and the corresponding test methods are described.
This document is applicable to polyimide staple fibers with a nominal linear density of 0.50dtex to 7.00dtex. Other specifications of polyimide staple fibers For reference only.

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 4146 (all parts) and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Temperature at which the weight is lost by 5%
The temperature at which the sample loses 5% of its weight when thermogravimetric analysis is performed under the same conditions under programmed temperature and a certain atmosphere.
4 Product identification
4.1 Product specifications are expressed in nominal linear density (dtex) and nominal cut length (mm).
Example. The polyimide staple fiber with a nominal linear density of 1.67 dtex and a nominal cut length of 51 mm has a product specification of 1.67 dtex x 51 mm.
