Scope
GB/T 14248-2008 is the English-translated version of 收获机械 制动性能测定方法.
GB/T 14248-2008 is the Chinese national method for measuring how self-propelled harvesting machinery brakes.
It defines the terms used - the brake, the parking brake, the braking distance, the average deceleration computed from the initial speed and the braking distance, the sustained deceleration and the force applied to the brake control - and fixes the accuracy required of each measured parameter.
It lists the test equipment: force-measuring devices, a decelerometer or non-contact speedometer, a timer, a steel tape, a thermometer, a pressure gauge, an anemometer and test slopes.
It then sets the test conditions and the two procedures, one for the service brake and one for the parking brake. It applies to wheeled and crawler harvesting machinery.
It replaces GB/T 14248-1993, was issued on 10 June 2008 and has applied since 1 January 2009.

Foreword
This standard is GB/T 14248-1993 "Harvesting Equipment braking performance measurement method" amendments. This standard GB/T 14248-1993 compared to the main technical content changes as follows.
--- Increasing the terms and definitions;
--- On the service brake test program have been adjusted;
--- The parking brake to the parking brake, a clear test of time;
--- Remove the hot brake tests.
From the date of implementation of this standard instead of GB/T 14248-1993. The standard proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the self-propelled harvesting machinery and equipment brake test parameter measurement accuracy, test conditions, the service brake test, parking Brake test.
This standard applies to wheeled, crawler harvesting machinery.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
2.1 brake
Harvesting machinery or decelerate the motion to stop the movement of the device.
2.2 parking brake

2.3 braking distance

2.6 brake control force
