Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules. This standard consolidates and replaces GB/T 12435-1990 "industrial hexogen" and GB/T 16626-1996 "shellac granulated RDX." This standard and GB/T 12435-1990 and GB/T 16626-1996 main changes are as follows:

--- Added RDX related terminology definitions (see Chapter 3);

--- Modify the RDX classification (see Chapter 4, GB/T 16626-1996 of Chapter 3);

--- Increasing the RDX particle size parameters and its determination method (dry sieving and laser diffraction method) (see Table 1 and 6.11);

--- Modify the RDX acid determination method, increasing the passivation of RDX acid value measurement method (see 6.6.3.2, GB/T 12435-1990 4.7);

--- Modify the determination of bulk density of RDX (see 6.7, GB/T 12435-1996 Appendix A, GB/T 16626-1996 5.6);

--- Increased RDX Deterrent mass fraction of its determination method (see 6.8);

--- Increased RDX plastic polymer mass fraction of its determination method (see 6.9);

1 Scope

GB/T 12435-2015 is the Chinese national standard on industrial hexogen, in the field of chemical technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 15 May 2015 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 February 2016. 3 Terms and Definitions
