3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 4780, GB 14166, GB 14167, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.

3.1 Child restraint system; CRS Child seat A device that reduces the damage to the wearer in a impact or sudden deceleration, by limiting the movement of the child's body, so that the child occupant can remain in a sitting or sleeping position.

3.2 Integral class A class of child restraint systems in which the child is restrained only by the components of the child restraint system and not directly by the vehicle's seat belts.

Note. The components of the child restraint system include child harness belts, impact protection devices, etc.

3.3 Non-integral class A class of child restraint systems that directly restrain children in the child restraint system through the vehicle's seat belts.

3.4 Rigid fixture for the child restraint system ISOFIX An internationally common system that connects the child restraint system to the vehicle through two lower anchorages on the vehicle, two corresponding rigid connecting devices on the child restraint system, a device that limits the flipping of the child restraint system.

3.5 Built-in child restraint system A child restraint system that is an integral part of the vehicle or vehicle seat and is fixed to the vehicle.

3.6 Universal child restraint systems A product type of child restraint system that is applicable to all i-Size seats or all universal seats.

4.2 Structure

4.2.1 The structure of the child restraint system shall meet the following requirements.

4.2.2 The following requirements shall be met when designing and installing child restraint systems.

4.2.3 Removable or movable parts designed for maintenance or adjustment shall only be removed or moved with the help of special tools. Any possibility of incorrect assembly or use of these parts shall be avoided. The assembly and disassembly process shall be detailed in the user manual of the child restraint system. Child harness belts shall be adjustable within their adjustment range without disassembly.

4.2.4 Special needs restraint systems may have additional restraint devices, which shall be designed to avoid incorrect assembly; their release method and operation mode shall be obvious to rescuers in an emergency.

4.2.5 Child restraint systems are allowed to cover any size range when designed.

4.2.6 Child restraint systems with inflatable parts shall be designed to ensure that the environment (pressure, temperature, humidity) in which they are used will not affect the performance requirements of this document.

4.2.7 During the test specified in Appendix D, the booster cushion shall not be completely pulled out of the three-point seat belt and the lower torso shall not be separated from the booster cushion.

4.3.2 General characteristics

4.3.2.1 General requirements The manufacturer shall declare the various usage modes of the child restraint system and the corresponding applicable height range. The child restraint system shall be adjusted so that its external dimensions meet the requirements of 4.3.2.3; the applicable height range shall be verified by measuring the internal dimensions according to the provisions of 4.3.2.2.

5.1.2 Energy absorption

5.1.3 Rollover test requirements The child restraint system shall be tested in accordance with the method specified in 6.1.2.During the entire test, the test dummy shall not fall out of the device; when the standard seat is in the rollover position, the displacement of the dummy's head from its original position in the direction perpendicular to the seat shall not exceed 300 mm. The measurement shall be carried out after the load is removed.

5.1.4 Temperature test requirements After the buckle, retractor, adjustment device, seat belt locking device are subjected to temperature test in accordance with the provisions of 6.2.7, the test personnel shall visually inspect and there shall be no signs that may impair the original characteristics of the child restraint system.

5.1.5.2 Other requirements

5.1.5.4 Dummy head movement in frontal and rear impacts 5.1.5.4.1 General child restraint system

5.1.5.5 Dummy injury indicators for side impact 5.1.5.5.1 Head containment During the side impact test loading process (maximum not exceeding 80 ms), the head containment meets the following requirements.

6.3 Calibration of the test cushion

6.3.1 In order to obtain the initial data of the peak value of the impact deceleration, the new test cushion shall be calibrated. And calibration shall be performed after every 50 dynamic tests or at least every month (whichever comes first).

6.5 Electrical measurement The measurement procedure shall comply with ISO 6487.2015.The filter levels are shown in Table 10.

7 Test report

7.1 The test report shall record all the following.

7.2 If certain provisions of the anchorages contained in I.7 are not complied with, the test report shall describe how the child restraint system is installed and shall state the important angles and dimensions.

7.3 When the child restraint system is tested on the vehicle or body, the test report shall state the way the body is fixed to the sled, the position of the child restraint system and the vehicle seat, the tilt angle of the vehicle seat backrest.

7.4 The test report shall also include the inspection results of the marking and instruction documents.

8 Marking

8.1 The child restraint system, including its module and base, shall be clearly and permanently marked with the manufacturer's name, abbreviation or trademark.

8.2 The child restraint system, including its module, base, impact protection device that is not permanently connected to the child's seat, shall be marked with the year of manufacture.

8.3 The following information shall be clearly marked on the child restraint system.

8.4 For rearward-facing child restraint systems, a label as shown in Figure 15 shall be sewn or permanently affixed to the visible surface of the child restraint system on the inner side (including the inner surface of the side wing) near the head of the child in the child restraint system, which shall be permanently visible in any mode of use. If a component or other accessories provided by the manufacturer makes the label unclear, another label shall be attached to the component or accessory.
