Scope
GB 11410-1989 is the English-translated version of 短波广播网覆盖技术规定.
GB 11410-1989 specifies the main technical indicators and calculation methods for short-wave (HF) double-sideband amplitude-modulated broadcasting networks. It applies to the planning of HF broadcasting networks, to the estimation of station service areas and to the estimation of interference between stations.
It defines the terms of HF broadcasting coverage (RF signal-to-noise and protection ratios, basic MUF, fading deciles, CIRAF zones, test points, basic circuit, reception and broadcast reliability) and fixes the planning values: 10 kHz channel spacing, 9 kHz emission bandwidth, 40 dB RF signal-to-noise ratio, 27 dB co-channel protection ratio, frequency tolerances and 80% basic broadcast reliability, together with the 14 HF broadcasting bands from 2 300 kHz to 26 100 kHz and the long-term fading deciles.
The calculation clauses follow the WARC-HFBC-1984/1987 propagation prediction method implemented in the HFBC86G program: E-layer critical frequency, basic MUF and cut-off frequency, F2-layer numerical maps of f0F2 and M(3000)F2, the F2-layer basic MUF and field strength prediction, with the program described in an annex.
