YY/T 1012-2021Dentistry—Coupling dimensions for handpiece connectors (English PDF)

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces YY 1012-2004 "Dental Handpiece Coupling Dimensions", the main technical changes between this standard and YY 1012-2004 as follows.

--- Modified the scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2004 edition);

--- Added normative references (see Chapter 2);

--- Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

--- Added four types of "classification" (see Chapter 4);

--- Added general requirements (see 5.1);

---Added coupling system types. with and without light transmission, with internal and external air-water (spray) transmission, and improved and added technology Drawings (see 5.2, Chapter 2 of the.2004 edition);

--- Increased the requirements for coupling force (see 5.3).

This standard uses the redrafting method to modify the use of ISO 3964:2016 "Dental handpiece coupling dimensions" (Dentistry- as follows.

a) Regarding normative reference documents, this standard has made adjustments with technical differences to adapt to the technical conditions of our country and the circumstances of the adjustment.

The situation is reflected in Chapter 2 "Normative References", and the specific adjustments are as follows.

1) ISO 2768-2 is replaced by GB/T 1184 which is equivalent to adopting international standards;

2) ISO 2768-1 is replaced by GB/T 1804 which is equivalent to adopting international standards;

3) ISO 1942 was replaced by GB/T 9937 which was modified to adopt international standards;

4) ISO 14457 is replaced by YY 1045 which is modified to adopt the international standard.

b) Corrected the error in Figure 5 of the ISO standard, and changed ">=10.8, >=7.8, <=6.1" to "<=10.8, <=7.8, >=6.1";

c) Modified the test method of 7.1.

This standard has modified some layout formats according to GB/T 1.1-2009.

--- Delete the foreword of the International Standard.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the nominal dimensions, tolerances and pull-out forces of the coupling system used between the handpiece and the motor. Transmits water, air, light and rotational energy.

This standard applies to the coupling between the handpiece and the motor of the dental unit.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 9937 and YY 1045 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

4 Categories

The coupling systems described in this standard are divided into the following types.

a) Type 1.Coupling system for straight handpieces, contra-angle handpieces and motors, without internal spray transmission and light transmission;

b) Type 2.coupling system for straight handpieces, contra-angle handpieces and motors, with internal spray transmission, without light transmission;

c) Type 3.Coupling system for straight handpieces, contra-angle handpieces and motors, with internal spray transmission and light transmission;

d) Type 4.Coupling system for straight handpieces, contra-angle handpieces and motors, without internal spray transmission, with optical transmission.
