Scope

T/CEEIA 415-2023 is the English-translated version of 新能源汽车驱动电机绝缘结构 技术规范.

T/CEEIA 415-2023 is the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association specification for the insulation systems of traction motors in new energy vehicles. An e-drive motor is fed by an inverter and is often cooled and lubricated by the gearbox oil, two conditions that stress winding insulation more than in an ordinary industrial motor, so the insulation has to be qualified as a system and not only material by material. The document sets the technical requirements for the insulation system and its component materials - enamelled wire, flexible slot insulation, impregnating resins, sleeving, tapes and slot wedges - and describes the test methods and inspection rules that verify them. Its annexes cover the preparation of sealed containers and model coils, the water content and testing of gearbox oil, the impulse voltage insulation class (IVIC) and a dual-temperature method for the thermal evaluation of insulation systems. It applies to the design and test evaluation of drive-motor insulation, and was published and took effect on 28 December 2023.
