Scope

QC/T 793-2020 is the English-translated version of 摩托车和轻便摩托车空气滤清器.

QC/T 793-2020 covers air filters for motorcycles and mopeds, replacing QC/T 793-2007, and specifies requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

It applies to air filters with a rated air volume flow no greater than 120 m3/h, and filters at 120 m3/h or above may also refer to it.

It takes its filter vocabulary from GB/T 28950.1 and GB/T 28950.2 and adds its own terms, distinguishing dry paper elements, paper elements wetted with engine oil and oil-soaked foam plastic elements, and defining initial resistance, initial and full life filtration efficiency, dust holding capacity, inner cleanliness, recovery ratio of air flow resistance and shower load.

A filter element damage pressure of at least 6 kPa is required, undamaged paper pleats after four hours immersed in pure water at 23 degrees C plus or minus 5 degrees C, a recovery ratio of air flow resistance of at least 80% after restorative treatment, and no brittleness or deformation after high and low temperature testing.

After a 50 g/m2 shower load the dust holding capacity must stay at 90% or more of the specified value. Testing follows GB/T 28949-2012 and QC/T 32-2017 for efficiency and dust capacity, with a dust concentration of 1 g/m3, 20 g of dust for initial efficiency and termination once resistance reaches 3 kPa.

Vibration runs at 50 Hz and 98 m/s2 at -20, 80 and 23 degrees C; leakage is measured at a 5 kPa vacuum.
