Scope
QC/T 501-2015 is the English-translated version of 汽车信号闪光器.
QC/T 501-2015 covers the automotive signal flasher: requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage. Clause 1 applies it to Type-M and Type-N flashers, other motor vehicles may refer to it.
Clause 3 asks it to survive reverse power polarity and a 50 Hz 550 V sine wave test, each for 1 min, storage at -40 °C and 85 °C, working at -40 °C and 80 °C, damp-heat cycling and vibration, and still meet the basic performance clause.
Clause 4 feeds it from a DC supply with ripple no greater than 75 mV peak-to-peak at (14 ± 0.2) V or (28 ± 0.2) V, uses meters of class 0.5 or better at (23 ± 5) °C, and reads working frequency and electrified rate over ten cycles, quiescent current and voltage drop with 21 W main bulbs on the Line-3 or Line-5 circuit.
Issued by MIIT on 10 October 2015, it replaces QC/T 501-1999 and has applied since 1 March 2016.

Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009 Directives for Standardization - Part 1. Structure and Drafting of Standards. This Standard is the modification against QC/T 501-1999.
Compared with QC/T 501-1999, this Standard has the major changes as follows.
--- Delete the starting time and impact requirements;
--- Add the quiescent current, over-voltage, salt spray, reverse voltage, electromagnetic compatibility, protection test and requirements;
--- Reduce the voltage drop of the flasher correspondingly;
--- Adjust the electrified rate parameter of the flasher;
--- Adjust the durability test time slightly according to several enterprises' standards; appropriately reduction of time can meet the actual working conditions;
--- In the aspect of test circuit diagram, considering the current state of existing products, give Line-3 and Line-5 product lines diagrams.
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and the like of automotive signal flasher.
This Standard is applicable to the Type-M and Type-N automotive signal flasher (hereinafter referred to as signal flasher). Other motor vehicles can be implemented by referring to this Standard.
