NB/T 20383-2016 is the recommended energy industry standard governing entry to the high and very high radiation areas of a nuclear power plant. It sets the principles by which such areas are identified and the control measures that apply to the people going into them.

Its scope is the management of entry into high and very high radiation areas under planned exposure at a nuclear power plant, and the same provisions may be followed for such areas at decommissioned plants and at other nuclear facilities.

It draws on HAD 103/04 and is filed under Chinese classification F72. The standard replaces EJ/T 1172-2004. Issued on 5 February 2016, it has applied since 1 July 2016.
