NB/T 20005.3-2012 is the recommended energy industry standard of China that deals with grade 20 and 16Mn carbon steel and low alloy steel forgings for the shafts of Class 2 and Class 3 auxiliary pumps in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants.

As Part 3 of the NB/T 20005 series it fixes the technical requirements for manufacture, the chemical composition, the mechanical properties, the test methods and the inspection rules for those forgings.

Its stated field of application is the 20 and 16Mn forgings used for secondary auxiliary pump shafts in PWR plants. Numerous GB/T 223 chemical analysis methods are called up, along with GB/T 228.1-2010, GB/T 229, GB/T 231.1, GB/T 4336, GB/T 20066 and GB/T 20123. Issued on 6 January 2012, it has applied since 6 April 2012.
