JB/T 9744-2010 was issued by MIIT on 11 February 2010 and has been in force since 1 July 2010.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 9744-1999.
2 Scope
This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on the magnetic particle testing of the parts and components of internal combustion engines. It fixes the detection methods and the terms and definitions, and covers the requirements for personnel, the testing equipment, the testing media, the viewing conditions, the part surface, the magnetizing conditions, the magnetizing methods and specifications, the detection procedures, demagnetization and cleaning.
