It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8118.3-1999.

2 Scope
This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard and the magnetic particle testing part of the series on piston pins for internal combustion engines. It lays down the specification for magnetic particle testing of the pin, the technical requirements and the determination of defects. The part applies to magnetic particle testing of piston pins for reciprocating internal combustion engines with a cylinder diameter of 200 mm or less.
