GB/Z 16682.1-2010 is a Chinese national guiding technical document on information technology that gives the general principles and the documentation framework for international standardized profiles. It explains the concept of a profile and the way profiles are documented, so that drafters can judge the nature and content of such a document and prepare draft proposals for submission. The part gives an overview of the profile concept, of the taxonomy used to classify profiles and of ISP format and content, with Annex A setting out uniform requirements for that format and content. It covers the profiles of ISO and IEC international standards, chiefly in the field of ISO/IEC JTC1. Used with GB/Z 16682.2-2010 and GB/T 17969.1-2000, it replaces GB/T 16682.1-1996. It was issued on 14 January 2011.
