1 Scope

GB/T 43862-2024 sets the technical requirements for the interactive application interface of a smart television. The Chinese smart TV market is served by several competing platforms, and an application developer facing a different interface on each cannot economically support them all, which is what this standard exists to fix. It describes the interactive application interface and then defines the interface model and the interfaces themselves: the media playback and control interfaces, the access to tuner, channel and programme information, the interfaces to the display, audio and rendering capabilities, the user input and remote control events, the storage, network and device capability queries, the account and payment interfaces, and the security and permission model that governs what an application may reach. For an application developer, a set-maker or a platform operator in the Chinese television market, this is the interface contract. It takes effect on 1 November 2024.
