GB/T 9944-2025 is the English-translated version of 不锈钢丝绳.

Stainless-steel wire ropes are used where corrosion resistance matters, in marine, food processing, architectural, chemical and outdoor lifting or rigging applications. This standard is the product specification for such ropes in China, and it is the document that rope makers, buyers and inspectors point to when ordering and accepting them.

Manufacturers of stainless wire and rope, distributors, equipment designers who select rope for a given duty, and third-party inspection bodies are the main users. A common national standard gives purchasers a shared basis for describing what they want and for checking what they receive.

The 2025 edition was issued on 29 August 2025 and takes effect on 1 March 2026. It replaces GB/T 9944-2015. It is classified as a recommended national standard, meaning it is voluntary in itself, although supply contracts and downstream product standards often make its provisions binding. Suppliers exporting to Chinese customers should confirm which edition the purchase order names.
