Scope
GB/T 29131-2012 is the English-translated version of 船用钢丝绳隔振器.
GB/T 29131-2012 specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of marine wire rope isolators, called isolators throughout the text.
Clause 1 limits application to the design, manufacture and acceptance of wire rope isolators for shipboard electronic equipment, electronic control equipment and auxiliary equipment.
Clause 3 sets out the requirements, beginning with design: while meeting the static and dynamic performance conditions the isolator should occupy as little space as possible in the vertical, longitudinal and transverse directions; the clamp plates and the rope holes should be designed so that stress in the wire rope is kept to a minimum and the rope is held firmly without broken or flattened wires; and under vibration and shock the rope and the parts connected to it must not loosen or slip, the upper and lower clamps, the base and the clamp plate or screws having sufficient strength.
Clause 3.2 describes the structure, which is made up of the wire rope, the clamp plates and a base plate or screw members, with the rope fixed between plate and clamp board or screws and assembled as one unit, and two mounting arrangements, screw holes and through holes, the main external structure being shown in Annex A. Clause 3.3 covers installation, naming the flat position (Z direction) and the suspended position (X and Y directions) normally used on marine equipment and referring to Annex B. The normative references include GB/T 9944 for stainless steel wire rope, GB/T 15168 for the measurement of vibration and shock isolators, GJB 150.11, GJB 150.16 and GJB 150.18 for salt spray, vibration and shock environmental testing, and GJB 4000 for ships.
The standard was proposed by the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and is administered by the deck and engine room auxiliaries sub-committee of the national marine machinery standardization technical committee (TC137/SC2). It was issued on 2012-12-31 and has applied since 2013-07-01.

3 Requirements
3.1 Design
3.1.1 meet the static and dynamic performance conditions isolator in the vertical, longitudinal, lateral should occupy as small spatial dimensions.
3.1.2 Plywood and rope hole design should be considered to minimize the stress of wire rope, wire rope with plywood mating, it is necessary to do the rope Clamping, and will not produce broken wire, clip flat and so on.
3.1.3 between the rope and the components connected when subjected to vibration and shock, there should be no loosening and slippage, no wire breakage, Upper and lower jaw, bottom, card board (or screw) have sufficient strength.
3.2 Structure
Isolator by the rope on, wait plywood, pallets or screw member. Rope elastomer fixed plate and card board or screwed Fixed and integrally assembled. Isolator points screw mounting holes and vias in two forms. Isolator main external structure in Appendix A.
3.3 Installation
Isolator installation of marine equipment usually have flat position (Z direction), pendant (X, Y direction), etc., as shown in Appendix B.
