Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 9881-2008 "Rubber Terminology". Compared with GB/T 9881-2008, the main differences are structural adjustments and editorial changes.
Aside from the changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
---119 new terms and definitions have been added. Appendix A provides the new terms and their definitions in this document.
---45 terms or definitions have been changed; Appendix B lists the terms that have been changed or redefined in this document.
---Three terms and definitions have been deleted. Appendix C provides the deleted terms and their definitions from GB/T 9881-2008.
--- Five terms have been merged into two terms. Appendix D provides the terms and their definitions from the merged GB/T 9881-2008.
---The symbol list has been removed (see Appendix A of the 2008 edition);
---Added symbols and abbreviations (see Chapter 4).
This document is modified to adopt ISO 1382:2025, "Rubber Terminology".
The technical differences between this document and ISO 1382:2025, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.
---Added 42 terms and definitions (see 3.571~3.612), providing a comprehensive overview of terminology and physicochemical testing methods in the field of synthetic rubber.
Domain terminology;
---The definition of dry adhesive content has been changed (see 3.159), directly referencing the definition of dry adhesive content in GB/T 14795-2023;
---The definition of light-colored crepe film has been changed (see 3.346), directly referencing the definition of light-colored crepe film in GB/T 14795-2023;
---The definition of a sample has been changed (see 3.437), and it is not recommended to use samples as the basis for judging the batch of products and its manufacturing process;
---The definition of semi-efficient vulcanization systems has been revised (see 3.445), directly referencing the definition of semi-efficient vulcanization systems in GB/T 14795-2023.
definition;
---The definition of technically graded rubber has been changed (see 3.519), directly referencing the technically graded rubber definition in GB/T 14795-2023.

Introduction
This document aims to assist those unfamiliar with rubber terminology and to provide guidance for the rubber industry itself in selecting appropriate terminology.
To reduce potential confusion, and also for use in other rubber-related standards, reports, and publications.
Many rubber product sectors have developed standard terminology for their specific products and processes; these standards are found in the references.
Listed in.
It is also necessary to pay attention to GB/T 2035 "Plastic Terminology" and GB/T 22027 "Nomenclature and Abbreviations of Thermoplastic Elastomers", because they contain...
It contains many terms of common interest to the rubber and plastics industries.
For ease of reference, the standards cited in this document and other relevant materials are listed in the first part of the references. (Regarding rubber) the terminology standards related to the product are listed in Part II of the references.

3 Terms and Definitions
abrasion
Wear
Loss of material surface due to friction.
abrasion resistance
The property of resisting wear on the material surface caused by mechanical action.
Note. Abrasion resistance is usually expressed as the abrasion resistance index (3.3).
The ratio of volumetric wear loss of standard rubber to that of test rubber, measured under the same specified conditions.
Note 1.Expressed as a percentage.
Note 2.GB/T 9867 provides a method for determining abrasion resistance (3.2) using a rotary roller abrasion tester.
Accelerated aging
Aging in a test environment designed to produce natural aging effects over a shorter time period.
Note. The degradation rate is usually increased by raising the temperature, sometimes in combination with increasing air or oxygen pressure, increasing humidity and other changes in conditions.
accelerator
Small-dose formulations used in conjunction with vulcanizing agent (3.555) to improve vulcanization (3.554) speed and/or the physical properties of vulcanizate (3.553).
Mixture (3.109).
Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) Nitrile rubber Oil-resistant rubber prepared by copolymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene (3.118).
Note. Oil resistance increases with increasing acrylonitrile content, which ranges from 18% to 49% in commercial nitrile rubber grades.
