GB/T 8336-2026Special threads gauges for gas cylinders (English PDF)

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document replaces GB/T 8336-2011 "Special Thread Gauges for Gas Cylinders". Compared with GB/T 8336-2011, the main differences are in structural adjustments and formatting.

Aside from the logical changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The thread designation, gauges for tapered threads, and their related dimensions and tolerances have been changed (see Tables 1-6, 2011 edition of Tables 1-6).

Table 6);

b) The requirements for cylindrical pipe threads have been deleted (see Chapter 1, 3.1.7~3.1.10, Chapter 5, and 6.1.3 in the 2011 edition);

c) The gauge step height has been changed (see Tables 1 and 4.2, 2011 edition);

d) The identification of the thread designation on the gauge has been changed (see 6.2, 2011 edition of 6.2).

1 Scope

This document specifies the structural type, dimensions and deviations, technical requirements, and markings of thread gauges for gas cylinders.

This document applies to gauges used for inspecting tapered threads as specified in GB/T 8335.

Note. The values specified in this document are based on standard measurement conditions of 20°C and zero measuring force.

3 Terms, Definitions and Symbols

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 13005 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1.1

plain taper plug gauge Use a gauge to check the minor diameter and taper of the conical internal thread at the mouth of the gas cylinder.

3.1.2

plain taper ring gauge Use a gauge to check the major diameter and taper of the tapered external thread at the tail of the bottle valve.

3.1.3

A gauge used for calibrating the dimensions of a smooth conical ring gauge.

3.1.4

Use a gauge to check the pitch diameter of the conical internal thread at the mouth of the gas cylinder.

3.1.5

Use a gauge to check the pitch diameter of the tapered external thread at the tail of the bottle valve.

3.1.6

A gauge used to calibrate the mean diameter and wear of a tapered thread working ring gauge.
