Scope
GB/T 13076-2009 is the English-translated version of 溶解乙炔气瓶定期检验与评定.
GB/T 13076-2009 is the Chinese national standard for re-inspecting dissolved acetylene cylinders in service, and applies to cylinders built to GB 11638.
It sets a three-year inspection cycle, the four conditions that bring a cylinder in early, among them a wall above 40 °C during filling and signs of burning or backfire, and then the inspection items: visual examination, the valve seat and fusible plug seat, the porous filler, wall thickness measurement, the fittings, and a 3.5 MPa nitrogen pressure test held for at least 3 min.
It gives the scrapping criteria, among them 30 years in service, a remaining wall thickness below design and dents deeper than 6 mm on welded or 2 mm on seamless cylinders.
It replaces GB 13076-1991, was issued on 25 June 2009 and has applied since 1 April 2010.
