Scope

GB 33146-2025 is the English-translated version of 液化二甲醚瓶阀.

GB 33146-2025 specifies the model designation, design requirements, technical requirements, inspection rules and marking, packaging, storage and transport requirements for valves for liquefied dimethyl ether cylinders, together with the corresponding inspection and test methods.

It applies to valves for liquefied dimethyl ether steel cylinders used at ambient temperatures of -40 °C to 60 °C, with a nominal working pressure of 1.6 MPa, a nominal volume of up to 150 L and a medium conforming to GB/T 25035; valves for vehicle cylinders are excluded.

The valve must be of a non-detachable design with an integral excess flow cut-off device and manual mechanical reset, a minimum design service life of 5 years, PZ27.8-LH (gas-phase) or PZ39.0-LH (liquid-phase) inlet threads, and the document sets material, manufacturing and performance requirements verified by tests including gas tightness, vibration, cut-off performance, temperature resistance, durability, body pressure and stress corrosion resistance, installation torque and handwheel fire resistance, with a normative annex on smart valves.

It replaces GB/T 33146-2016 and is now a mandatory standard; the new edition revises the model designation, adds requirements for excess flow cut-off devices, smart valves, mechanical properties of main parts and rubber seals, electronically readable marking and a public information website, and changes the rules on type testing, sampling and marking.

It was issued on 2 December 2025 and takes effect on 1 July 2026. Classification: ICS 23.020.30, CCS J 16. The document runs to 27 pages, delivered complete in English translation.

Foreword

This document is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020, Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document replaces GB/T 33146-2016, Valves for liquefied dimethyl ether cylinders. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes compared with GB/T 33146-2016 are as follows:

a) the term "non-detachable valve" has been deleted (see 3.1 of the 2016 edition);

b) the terms "reference state" and "rated cut-off flow" have been added (see 3.1 and 3.2);

c) the model designation has been changed (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of the 2016 edition);

d) requirements for the design of the valve sealing structure have been added (see 5.2);

e) requirements for the structural design of the excess flow cut-off device have been added (see 5.3 and 5.4);

f) a requirement for the inlet diameter of the liquid-phase valve has been added (see 5.8);

g) the specification of the liquid-phase pipe connection thread of the liquid-phase valve has been changed (see 5.10; 5.5 of the 2016 edition);

h) requirements and test methods for smart valves have been added (see 5.11 and Annex A);

i) requirements for the mechanical properties of the materials of main parts and components have been added (see 6.1.1.1);

j) requirements for the mechanical properties of rubber seals have been added (see 6.1.2.1);

k) the requirement for the weight deviation of the valve has been changed (see 6.2.4; 6.2.4 of the 2016 edition);

l) requirements for the cut-off performance of the excess flow cut-off device and for its durability have been added (see 6.3.4 and 6.3.6.2);

m) the requirement for the minimum design service life has been changed (see 6.4; 6.4 of the 2016 edition);

n) the chemical analysis methods for the materials of main parts have been changed (see 7.2; 7.2 of the 2016 edition);

o) the requirement for the conditioning time in air for weight loss has been changed (see 7.3.3.2; 7.3.3.2 of the 2016 edition);

p) the test method for temperature resistance has been changed (see 7.11; 7.10 of the 2016 edition);

q) the requirements for re-inspection of the materials of main parts and of non-metallic seals have been changed (see 8.1.2 and 8.1.3; 8.1.2 of the 2016 edition);

r) the requirements for type testing have been changed (see 8.3.1; 8.3.1 of the 2016 edition);

s) the sampling method and judgement have been changed (see 8.3.2; 8.3.2 of the 2016 edition);

t) the requirements for valve marking have been changed (see 9.1.1; 9.1.1 of the 2016 edition);

u) the requirements for the product certificate of conformity have been changed (see 9.1.3; 9.1.3 of the 2016 edition);

v) requirements for electronically readable marking of the valve have been added (see 9.1.3);

w) requirements for the public information website and factory documents have been added (see 9.3).
