1 Scope

This document specifies the sampling procedures for concentrated natural latex, synthetic latex and artificial latex.

This document is applicable to the sampling of latex in barrels, latex tank trucks and latex in rubber storage tanks. Sampling procedures can also be used for plastic dispersions

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Lot

A certain amount of latex that is processed or produced under the same conditions.

Note. A batch of latex may be packed in one or several containers.

3.2

Sample

A certain amount of latex extracted from a batch of latex.

3.3

Laboratorysample

A certain amount of latex representing the batch of latex and used for laboratory inspection and testing.

3.4

Testsample

A certain amount of latex obtained by filtering the laboratory sample (3.3) for testing.

Note. When determining the clot content, a laboratory sample is used instead of a sample (see 6.5.5).
