Scope

GB/T 6803-2023 is the English-translated version of 铁素体钢的无塑性转变温度落锤试验方法.

GB/T 6803-2023 is the Chinese drop-weight test method for finding the nil-ductility transition temperature of ferritic steels, defined on the page as the highest temperature at which the specimen breaks under the test.

It specifies the principle, the specimens, the test equipment, the test requirements, the test procedure, the evaluation of results and the test report, with a normative annex on auxiliary specimen dimensions and test conditions and an informative annex on butt-welded joint specimens; each specimen of a set takes a single drop-weight impact at a selected temperature producing a fixed deflection.

Sampling position and direction follow the product standard or GB/T 2975. It applies to ferritic steel products - plate, sections, cast steel and forged steel - of thickness not less than 12 mm. It replaces GB/T 6803-2008, issued 28 December 2023, applying from 1 July 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 6803-2008 "Drop weight test method for non-plastic transition temperature of ferritic steels" and is consistent with GB/T 6803-2008 In comparison, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---The test principle has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the 2008 edition);

---Changed the yield strength range and impact energy range of the drop weight test (see Table 3, Table 3 of the 2008 version);

---Added requirements for testing machine calibration (see 6.7).

1 Scope

This document specifies the principles, specimens, test equipment, test requirements, and test procedures of the non-plastic transition temperature drop weight test method for ferritic steels. Procedure, test result evaluation and test report.

This document is suitable for determining the non-plastic transformation of ferritic steel products (including plates, profiles, cast steel and forged steel) with a thickness of not less than 12mm. Change temperature.

2 Normative reference documents

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, the dated quotations For undated referenced documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated referenced documents, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Ferritic steel

All alpha-Fe steels.

Note: Including martensite, pearlite, bainite and other non-austenitic steels.

3.2 nil-ductility transition temperature

The maximum temperature at which the specimen breaks when the drop weight test is carried out in accordance with the provisions of this method.

4 Principles

Each of a set of specimens of a given ferritic steel material is subjected to a single drop weight impact load at a selected temperature.

Make the sample produce a fixed deflection, and measure the maximum temperature when the sample breaks, that is, the no-plastic transition (NDT) temperature.

5 Samples

5.1 Sampling location and direction of specimens

5.1.1 When taking samples from steel plates or profiles, the sampling location and direction should be in accordance with relevant product standards or agreements; if there is no provision, the sampling location and direction should be in accordance with According to the provisions of GB/T 2975, the cutting direction of the steel plate blank should be transverse. Unless otherwise specified, the specimens for drop weight specimens shall be taken from other mechanical Nearby location of performance specimen.
