Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document is modified to adopt ISO 1819:1977 "Safety specifications for continuous handling equipment - General rules".

This document has undergone significant structural adjustments compared to ISO 1819:1977.A table comparing the structural numbering changes between the two documents is provided.

See Appendix A.

This document differs significantly from ISO 1819:1977 in several technical aspects. The relevant clauses are indicated in vertical single-line margins.

The lines (|) are marked. A summary of these technical differences and their causes can be found in Appendix B.

1 Scope

This document specifies the basic safety requirements for the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of continuous material handling equipment.

This document applies to conveying machinery and feeding machinery.

This document does not apply to continuous transport equipment used in underground coal mines.

This document does not cover specific safety rules for continuous transport equipment or special safety issues for each piece of equipment.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

According to the equipment design requirements, the specified conditions for using continuous material handling equipment shall apply.
