1 Scope

GB/T 44460-2024 gives the Chinese guidelines for grading the quality of sanitary fixtures, within the consumer product quality grading programme. The programme exists because Chinese consumer markets are large, crowded and hard for a buyer to read: a product that merely complies with the mandatory standard sits on the same shelf as one built far beyond it, and the grading scheme is the instrument for distinguishing them. For sanitary ware the graded characteristics are the ones that actually separate products in service, the water consumption and flushing performance, the surface glaze quality and its resistance to staining and abrasion, the dimensional and installation accuracy, the durability of the fittings and seals, the noise, and the lead and other material requirements. The standard sets the grading indicator system, the grades themselves and the requirements at each, the evaluation method and the rules for making and substantiating a grade claim. For a manufacturer or a retailer in this market, this is the framework a quality claim has to fit. It took effect on 23 August 2024.

This document specifies the basic requirements, index requirements, test methods, judgment rules and grading marks for the quality grading of sanitary ware. This document applies to the quality of smart toilets, toilets, bathroom cabinets, shower heads, shower rooms, faucets, hoses, angle valves, and bathtubs. Grading.
