Scope

GB/T 24293-2026 is the English-translated version of 恒温水嘴.

GB/T 24293-2026 is the Chinese national standard for thermostatic faucets - washbasin, kitchen, shower, bathtub and bidet taps for household and similar use whose outlet water temperature is held at a preset value, in mechanical and electronic versions with AC or DC power supply.

It fixes the conditions of use (ambient 1 °C to 55 °C, working pressure 0.05 MPa to 1.0 MPa, cold water 4 °C to 29 °C, hot water 45 °C to 85 °C), requires materials in contact with drinking water to be harmless and bans corrosion-prone materials such as zinc alloy for wetted parts, and sets requirements for appearance, processing and assembly, threads and cold/hot markings, dimensions, limits for hazardous substance extraction and performance, with the corresponding test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transport and storage.

Annexes A to C give life tests for the temperature/flow regulating switch, the changeover switch and the rotating spout. It replaces GB/T 24293-2009 Digital thermostatic faucet and takes effect on 1 March 2027.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 33733 and the following apply.

3.1 electronic faucet

faucet that is powered by one or more means including external power supply, battery, or hydroelectric power, and realizes one or more functions such as non-contact control, touch control, voice control, application/application software (APP) remote control and temperature display

[Source: QB/T 5003-2024, 3.1]

3.2 safety lock

component that restricts the temperature adjustment device from continuing to rotate or move in the direction of increasing temperature

Note: When the user needs to continue increasing the temperature, the safety lock can be released, generally by pressing.

4 Classification

4.1 According to the control method, they are classified into mechanical faucets and electronic faucets.

4.2 According to the occasion of use, they are classified into washbasin faucets, kitchen faucets, shower faucets, bathtub faucets and bidet faucets, etc.

4.3 According to the power supply mode, they are classified into AC power supply faucets and DC power supply faucets.

5 Conditions of use

Faucets shall function normally under the following conditions:

a) Ambient temperature: 1 °C ~ 55 °C;

b) Relative ambient humidity (RH): not greater than 93% (at 25 °C);

c) Working pressure: 0.05 MPa ~ 1.0 MPa; if exceeding 0.5 MPa, install a pressure reducing valve;

d) Medium service temperature: cold water temperature 4 °C ~ 29 °C, hot water temperature 45 °C ~ 85 °C.

6 Materials and associated devices

6.1 All materials used in faucets that come into contact with drinking water shall not, under the conditions of use specified in this document, cause harm to human health or cause any changes in the quality, appearance, taste, odor, etc. of drinking water.

6.2 Components of faucets that come into contact with water shall not be made of corrosion-prone materials such as zinc alloy.

6.3 Hoses used with faucets shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 23448.
