Scope

GB/T 43412-2023 is the English-translated version of 金属薄板电阻点焊推荐工艺规范.

GB/T 43412-2023 is the Chinese national recommended process specification for resistance spot welding of metal sheet.

It sets out the symbols, general requirements, design requirements, quality requirements, the welding process, inspection and test methods and the repair of weld-spot defects, and carries thirteen informative annexes: daily and periodic checks of the welding equipment, magnetic spot welding equipment, equipment verification, electrodes, spot-weld sealants, spot spacing and edge distance, recommended parameters for common joints, a process specification template, common defects and their countermeasures, removal of spot marks, indentation depth measuring devices, fatigue testing and sealing testing.

It defines magnetic spot welding and seal spot welding, and applies to stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium alloy and other metal sheet from 0.6 mm to 5 mm thick. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 June 2024.
