1 Scope

GB/T 43387-2023 is the Chinese vocabulary of product recall. Recall in China is a regulated administrative process run by the market regulation authorities, with defect investigations, filed recall plans and reporting obligations, and it turns on distinctions that must be used precisely: a defect is not a non-conformity, a recall is not a repair campaign, and the party that must act is not always the one whose name is on the product. The standard defines the basic terms, the parties to a recall, the terms of the recall process, the recall data terms, and other related terms, each with its definition and English equivalent. It took effect on 27 November 2023.
