1 Scope

GB/T 43247-2023 sets the hygiene requirements for the collection and transport of human remains. The people who do this work go into homes, hospitals and accident scenes, often without knowing what the deceased died of, and they are exposed to whatever it was in a confined vehicle for the length of the journey. The standard is written around that. It sets the classification and identification of remains, the basic requirements including standard precautions and the management arrangements, the preparation, and then the procedures: the disinfection of the remains, their collection, their transport, and the disinfection of the funeral vehicle, followed by the personal protective equipment - putting it on and taking it off, disposing of it afterwards, and hand hygiene - and the inspection requirements. It took effect on 7 September 2023.

This document stipulates the classification and identification of remains, basic requirements, preparation, operation, and health protection of staff during the collection and transportation of remains. and inspection requirements. 3 Terms and definitions
